Yeah. I'm trying to figure out what stairs. There weren't any significant stairs noticeable in the pictures of the building. Ah well. If a single move is enough to reach the top, that still leaves a standard action for the charge.

I think h4h specifically mentioned that picture as being "something similar to the building", not the building itself.

A charge is a full action. The reason characters were able to charge on the surprise round is:

During the surprise round you can use the charge action, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to twice your speed). This is also true in other cases where you are limited to a single attack or move action per round.

"Something similar" doesn't in my mind automatically equate to many yards of stairs in between Stone and his target, but that's neither here nor there. Also, while charge is a full round action, there is no requirement that one must be able to charge the entire length of the movement. A charge requires only at least 10 feet of run up. But, again, that's neither here nor there. Stone is rushing the gun to attack. If that can't all be done in one round, so be it.

To clarify the stairs are similiar to what I presented in the second picture.

Each stairway's surface is 5 feet to the next square. There are 3 stairs then there is 15 feet to two more stairs and the gunmen is set back somewhat into the door. You are suffering from hampered movement which is reducing your speed, you can ignore via an acrobatics check OR you may surge to get an extra action.

Sorry for the lack of posts. It seems that the only access that seems to work is here at work and I've been having some problems there. My home access to EN World is non-existant. This whole weekend I couldn't get it to come up at all. So, to recap...

During the week posting is hampered at times due to lag problems.

With the hostages gone, I guess I should have another action. If I can reach the gatling gun in this round (and is even aware of it's existence) I will do so and crush it. Otherwise I'll attack the White Knight.
