M&M3e (DCA) Young Justice: Home Alone

"Echo... wait." Batgirl stepped forward. "Nigma... if this is Nigma, is never that simple. His riddles carry double meanings. Answers within answers. For example... if 'Daily' and 'Planet' are the last two answers... why were their questions blanked out?"

Batgirl was about to give her own opinions... but then she commited a cardinal sin:

"...any ideas, anyone?"

Solaris words bothered her. They shouldn't, but they did.

"Perhaps the bomb in here is set to explode shortly after the papers were delivered?
But how should they be delivered, when the whole building was hold hostage?
Is it just a contingency to send Superman on a wild goose chase? I'm not willing to risk casualties for this theory..
."
Dre ponders.

Now a real speedster would be really useful.

Echo frowned faintly. This was more than a question of logic. It required insight into The Riddler's madness, and his motivations. She looked at Batgirl.

"You're our resident expert on The Riddler. The Question said there was no time. Furthermore, this trap was designed for Superman and the League. It stands to reason that the clues and puzzle were meant for them too... Does that help us decipher these blank clues?"

OOC: Changing original post since it looks wrong with hindsight. Hope that's ok...

Green Dragon nodded to Echo, and starts carrying the hostages out asfast as he can.

Solaris, acting as ordered, helps Green Dragon with the hostages. He didn't know what to make of the newcomer, but with their group already down two members*, he supposed he shouldn't complain.

Still, at least now mage-boy has shut up

OOC: *Three counting poor Annie, who hasn't been heard from in a while

[sblock=Batgirl's Insight(?)] You don't know anything other than this being slightly weird for the obvious reasons. Riddler is often a loner, except with certain other larger groups. He may be working with others, though most of his regular group were taken with Mongul: actually, he's the only Legion of Doom member still here.[/sblock]

The group decides to leave, the shield going down and releasing them to the rest of the world. The air is colder now than it was before, and the breeze carries with it the smell of charcoal.

Your partner, Zach, has a dangerous look in his eyes, the look of a frightened animal. The backlash from his own powers seems to have incapacitated him, and he seems to be delirious as the ambulance crews strap him to a cot and wheel him away. No! Don't you see? This is just what they want! The Question, he knows... everything! You can't stop, never stop! Red, blue, colors everywhere!!!!

The group watches as Zach is taken away, Turpin personally promising to get him back safe and sound to the Hall of Justice.

Before he can finish the sentence, however, the cop gets a call on the radio: while they've been monitoring the situation, all hell just broke loose. Knowing the big boys are out of town, at least a dozen super-criminals of the minor sort have started an all-out crime spree in various parts of Metropolis. The SCU heads out, leaving the team at the door of their super-jet.

Getting back on the Javalin, the collection of sidekicks rises into the air, hovering above the Daily Planet's giant globe. There are fires around the city, but the team knows the Riddler is up to something. They must choose from three options what they are going to do next:

If they go to S.T.A.R. labs, turn to page 41
If they go to Metropolis Aquarium, turn to page 87
If they go to First National Bank of Metropolis, turn to page 16
If they go to fight bands of roving super-criminals, turn to page 43

please vote.

OOC: please vote. I realize you lot voted Echo as the leader, but you as players have input you can offer Shayuri, or just decide for yourselves, or whatever.

OOC: I'll go Super Villian hunting, then, if I may. Takedown 2 could use a workout.

Though if we split up, we're gonna need more vehicles...

OOC: Of all these places, STAR labs is where most damage can be done, if the bad guys put their hands on that technology. So I'll be inclined to go there. The bank is just money.

Every day you spend debating, folks, is a day I'll move certain events along in the setting. You delay too long, certain characters may not need to be rescued anymore, in the worst possibly way. Or other effects might happen.

And if you separate, I'm not changing my encounters to suit you. That can work for and against you, actually, so it's up to you.

Echo is quiet for a moment, then says, "Everyone get to the jet. I'm sure there's levels of this we're still missing, but there just isn't time to try to puzzle it out completely. We have to act, and hope we can figure it out as we go."

"I'll meet you all there in just a moment."

She makes a beeline for the editor's office, just to see if the Riddler, in his anger over Perry's decision not to run his puzzle voluntarily, had decided to punish him for his censorship efforts.

(OOC - Dang, bad timing for me to have delays! One question for the GM, in M&M 3 there's no 'demolitions' skill...would Technology be used instead?)
