M2: The Search for Goblin HQ

Round 12

Somac, buoyed by Rinaldo's presense and skill, aims another blow at the last goblin on the East wall, now hesitating and fearful. His greatsword splits the small creature in two.

Ashnar, having got the hang of the rocks now, manages to climb up again successfully, bringing himself to the the top of the first hill, where he can see into the room where Irene disappeared.

Tenebryn, tiring of this goblin fighting, can't seem to connect with his little opponent. Nurlan has better luck, smacking a goblin with his light mace, but id doesn't fall. (3 pts dmg) (he's not using the masterwork long sword they found? Who has that?)

At this point, the bugbear who had previously been seen on the south wall, with mulitple arrows sticking out of his body charges around the corner where Irene disapeared. He clutches a greatsword over his head with both hands, and his arrow wounds seem gone. "All will die who dare attack the Jebli!" he cries in common. He heads for Ashnar, the only party member not on the walls, and comes to within about 10 feet. Ashnar, despite his surge of anxiety about being charged by this formitable looking foe, does notice a second figure, a humanoid in full plate armor, peer around the corner into the room.

The other goblins (there are six in sight, all on the south wall) appear heartened by the bugbear's appearence. "
Kill! Kill
!" they shout in goblin. One manages to catch Tenebryn with his scimitar. (2 pts dmg, bringing the elf to 7 hps)

Charlyn misses with his morningstar. Rinaldo sheaths his rapier, and readies his crossbow.

Tor still lies on the east wall. Irene is nowhere to be seen.

Good question. Nobody wanted it, so I think we packed it up with the rest of the treasure intended for market when we get a chance. I don't think we ever figured out exactly who was carrying what.

Nurlan will continue to sing (that march, although inspiring, is probably getting tired) and strike at the nearest goblin.

Ashnar would have to climb up about 10 more feet of loose rock to reach the battlement with the others, requiring at least one sucessful climb roll and full round action.

Somac: Male Human Bbn1

"Jebli? What in the name of Grendath is a Jebli?"

OOC: Somac sheathed his sword last round. He now moves to north and west to position himself for ranged attacks, drawing his bow as he goes. If he can target the bugbear, he will. If he can't target the bugbear, he will target the goblins on the south wall, with preference to the ones that are not in melee and/or have no cover against him.

"I dunno, but here is your next opponent, Warrior, if we can bring him down, the goblin may flee, as their leader goes down." reply Rinaldo to Somac. Rinaldo takes a aim on the hobgoblin

"I think it's the name of their tribe! There is someone else down that room, in plate armor!"

If both Rinaldo and Somac manage to hurt the bugbear, Ashnar will use his burning hands spell, mourning the chance to use it efficiently against a larger group.
Otherwise, Ashnar concentrates on ducking the blows from the bugbear (total defense, total AC of 18).

Round 13

Somac sinks an arrow into the bugbear as he charges. Ashnar fans his fingers and unleases a torent of fire, which singes the beasts hair, if little else. Perhaps it acts as a sucessful distraction though, for the greatsword, swung down, strikes only rock, as Ashnar is barely able to evade it. Rinaldo, seeing the bugbear focusing on the wizard, sends a bolt deep into its flank (sneak attack 11 pts).

On the south wall, Charlyn and Tenebryn each bring down a goblin. Nurlan has less luck, missing and taking another whack from a small scimitar (2 pts - down to 4 hps)

He'll keep at it another round with the song and with the mace if there's a goblin adjacent. If at the time of his action the only adjacent goblins are down, he'll draw the longspear instead.

"I'm marching off to war
To fight so gloriously
But soon I will be marching
Back home victoriously..."

Charlarn of Phyrah: Male human cleric 2

If there is space, Charlarn will move to the space north of Tenebrynn, formerly occupied by g3, to help shield Nurlan (5-ft. step). "Nurlan, are you hurt badly?" Then he'll swing away (standard action; Atk +2, Dmg 1d8+1).
