Tor climbs to his feet, leaning on Charlarn a bit in the process.

"What happened? Last thing I remember, Somac called out he was backing me up, then everything went dark. I guess I should have ducked something a little faster?"

"We've killed or chased off all the goblins on the wall. Irene has disappeared, so we need to find her. Can you walk alright?"

Charlarn follows Nurlan. He asks, "How are you doing Nurlan?"

 

[Patlin]

"Yes, thanks, I feel much better now."

Tor gathers up anything he dropped on being rendered unconscious, readies his chain, and prepares to follow whichever way the party goes.

"We should all stick together, I think. If we are to head in after Irene, best to do it quickly. If that means losing money from the bounty, so be it."

Charlarn follows Nurlan. He asks, "How are you doing Nurlan?"

"Hurt, still bleeding, but I can walk and fight OK. Does the Searcher bless us with any more healing tonight?"

"Aye the ears can wait, lets find out where Irene has gotten to this time." Tenebrynn says as they all regroup. "Which way did she go? Into this room over this way?" He motions towards the other side of the fallen wall, before heading down there himself to see if either Irene or that armor wearing fella is there.

"Hurt, still bleeding, but I can walk and fight OK. Does the Searcher bless us with any more healing tonight?"

Charlarn pulls out a scroll of cure light wounds and smiles. "Will this do?" He uses the scroll on Nurlan. [dice]

+1=4 points of healing for Nurlan

 

[Patlin]

Once the immediate flurry of healing related activity is concluded, Tor starts toward the direction Ashnar indicated as Irene's last known position.

"Let's form up and try to stay close to one another. We can back each other up better that way. Somac, will you join me in the lead?"

"I hope we find Irene quickly. I don't like having our healer so depleted of magic. Once we catch up with Irene, we should retreat and recover as quickly as possible."

Somac moves to join Tor. While he's at it, he draws his greatsword, just in case he needs it sooner rather than later.

Entering the fortress

Charlyn is now 2nd level, thus would cure 5 pts to Nurlan, bringing him up to 9.

The group gathers and marches carefully into the still moathouse. As the climb down from the wall, they see a goblin slam the door leading to the wall from the gate tower.

They enter the first empty room, strewn with rubble, overgrown with weeds and containing the body of the dead bugbear. They then enter the 30 foot corridor heading North where Irene was last seen. That corridor has three doors, two on the West, one on the East. All closed and seemingly not recently used. The corridor leads to a large rectangular room, about 40' by 50'. There are numerous tables and chairs, all ragged. Many dirty footprints have crossed the floor. Large double doors on the SW corner are open, leading to a courtyard. There is also a corridor leading West, and closed doors on the NE and S walls.

Somac notices blood splatters near the center of the room and also in the south, where the party has just entered. There is no sign of a struggle, of enemies, or of Irene.

It looks like we're going to be faced with a large number of decisions in the very near future. Before we stormed the fortress, someone suggested we elect a leader. I think this is a fantastic idea and should really help keep things moving. I think we should go ahead and do it now. I would suggest Charlarn or Nurlan. Any other suggestions or thoughts?

By the way, Manzanita, you're doing a great job with this adventure! I'm really enjoying it. Keep it up!

Planning to announce it soon -- I will be away, with sporadic internet access, from the last week of November until the last week of December. During that period don't wait for my postings to do anything; if I post, fine, but NPC Nurlan if need be.

For this reason, it may be convenient not to appoint him leader.
