Rinaldo returns to his room. He opens the door and close it behind him, without locking it. Eanos hasn't come back. He lay down on his bed, expecting him and the others to come back at some time.

Eanos, human monk

"We know now that the tunnel leads to an area the staff use, which means more than one of them have access. If we simply close the door without locking it, perhaps it will simply appear one of them was careless the last time he went strolling? Otherwise, we might ask Rinaldo or Mordik, I suppose."

"I wonder if that open/close cantrip would work. But as you know, my expertise with such locked gateways is limited. The only one I examined more closely was in the temple I originally learned... I am sorry, that does not belong here."

"Okay. I'm going to go see if the Rinaldo, the merchant we were talking to last night, is in. You can stay here."
[smallcaps]I'm not ready to turn in yet, Nurlan! I'll come with. Ya might need some stealthy backup. [/smallcaps]

"Sure." Nurlan decides that if the room will be unguarded he'll bring his pack with him. Together, they go knock on Rinaldo's door.

"Mr. Rinaldo, if it is not too late, would you like to continue the stories from last night?"

Rinaldo opens the doors. "No problem, I would be delighted." He let's enter the two men. He close the door behind. "I've found what Wilbur is hiding. A love story. I doubt he is the one we seek."

Mordik keeps his voice down to almost a growling whisper:
[smallcaps] I still say Captain Basmar might have something to do with'is - that much money doesn' change hands without thievery of life or livelihood. [/smallcaps]
Mordik explains briefly his encounter earlier this morning, still at a rasp whisper:
[smallcaps]This mornin', see - I go to do my business, you know, and on the way I see him and his pack fallen spillin over full o' gold...I offered this to Nurlan but he dont think nothin of it - whatchu think, Rinaldo?[/smallcaps]

"Hmm, for now let's see if it stays closed. I don't believe that cantrip will even work on a door this size, but it certainly wont keep it closed. I think I remember hearing of another spell, Wizard Lock, that would accomplish that. Perhaps if we could sneak Rinaldo in through the staff door, he could lock it and escape back out that way." says Tenebrynn. "Let's see if he has returned."
