I thought it was Eanos who was in front with Razh?

That's my understanding. I just figured rln got the names mixed up. We have Razh out front fo his eyes, and Eanos there for his ears.

The group continues another 100 feet or so down the narrow, sandy corridor. The light is definitely moving away, at about the same pace the party is proceeding. It flickers like a torch, revealing some of the rough stone walls, and sandy floor, but gives no clue as to what, if anything, is holding it.

Suddenly Razh feels something flutter across his feet. Glancing down he doesn't see anthing. It felt like a snake, maybe, or a mouse. Next Eanos feels the same thing. The light continues to retreat slowly down the tunnel.

Tenebrynn will try to keep his eyes open as they go, but he is not the most observant member of the party. He does have better sight than most humans though.

Hogarth says in goblin. "I can cast divine spells from Gundar. I don't have those spells you mention prepared. If we had time, I could prepare them. But the blood of Gundar will be on us soon. I am glad you have come, though. It is not so good to die alone. By the way. The peasents you saw above. They are not free. They are either slaves or goblins. There are no more free men left on Suderham."

"Hold," Eanos whispers as he feels ... whatever it is. "The light source, or whoever holds it, clearly knows we're here. And I'm afraid we're not alone here: something just ran across my feet. It could be a rat, but whether it's connected to the light or not, I'm not inclined to keep playing this baiting game. I think we should either retreat and regroup, or see if we can't call out the light-bearer."

The party pauses, as everyone realizes there are some little critters scurying about. No one can see them though. To Razh, they seem to blend right into the sand, or move underneath it. The flickering light pauses as well, about 30 feet ahead.

I should note that I'll be leaving this Wednesday for my annual beach vacation in Manzanita, OR. My posting will be sporatic for the 10 days or so after that. At this point, the party needs to either decide to continue or return to the room and take one of the other three exits.

His knucles whiten on his quarterstaff as he readies himself for battle.

When did Tenebrynn get his quarterstaff back? ;)[/sblock]

Razh gets a chill down his short spine as he sees the bugs skittering beneath his feet. Ogrin will remember the time on that gods forsaken Island when the swarm of hell-wasps almost claimed Razh and his friends lives. Needless to say, Razh does not like bugs.

"Ah'm goin' t'suggest we turn around an' run. Pick another path, Ah mean. Eh... 'cause there isn' nothin' we kin do agin' bugs, with o' without weapons. An', eh, take it from me an' Ogrin 'ere, bugs kin be a lot tougher than... than ye might think..." He looks to Ogrin. "An' Ah'm thinkin' ye're right about the trap. That ol' viscount bloke wouldn't 've put us down 'ere with such an easy escape. We're walkin' right into 'is 'ands, mates, or so Ah'm thinkin'."

That's Razh's vote, but the brave dwarf, being the only one with eyes that can see, will lead the group wherever they decide to go.
