Magic Bows and Arrows

Airwolf

First Post
Greetings all,

I want to ask about magic stacking with magic arrows and bows.

Can a character with, for example, a +2 Longbow shoot a +1 arrow, thus giving the character a total bonus of +3?

I am sure this has come up before, but I couldn't find a reference to it. Sorry if this is rehashing an old question.

DMG, pages 176 and 177. The enhancement bonuses from ranged weapons and their ammunition stack. So a +5 longbow and a +5 arrow combine to give you a total of +10 to your attack roll and +10 to your damage roll. Only use the enhancement bonus on the ammunition for the purpose of bypassing Damage Reduction, however. For example, if you shoot a normal arrow with a +5 bow, you get +5 to hit and damage, but you do not bypass any DR.
