I would classify them as rings. Every character can wear 2 rings, whether they are for ears, toes, nose, or fingers is up to them.
Same here. I think that's the simplest and most effective ruling on the subject.

I agree. Now just to assign the permenant charisma and wisdom loss for wearing genital and other rings. Based on real life it must be considerable, or just require a substandard score in the first place.

Thats how I would rule in most cases, except when said Earring was designed as a Wondrous Item instead (rather than as a 'ring'), and then I say un-slotted or headgear as default or possibly by comparing the function of said Earring to closest existing item (making it possibly amulet or other type). In any case, the Earring would not create new slots; it would either be slotless (and more costly) or take an existing slot.

Hey, I resent that remark! ;) Why all this "piercings are evil" sentiment? Is everyone here a middle-aged parent with teenagers?

ear.. RING... could easily fill the ring slot -.-

This is what I do. Rings work in lots of different places, finger, toe, ear, nose...especially once you head into BoVD territory.

Max 2 rings.

You can give yourself as many holes in the head (and other areas) as you like, but I'm still not gonna give you extra slots IMC.

When you have people with 30 holes *per* ear you stop wondering how much bling they strap on and start wondering if they'd allow you to strain your ramen through them.
