I just noticed that they changed the gp value for magic items in the new playtest packet. I wonder why they did this. I really liked the older "less is more" approach to the value of gold and magic items.

I think they changed the table in the early August packet. They increased typical prices for the rarest categories.

I discovered it's actually very close to the 2nd Edition numbers, and as my players had a lot of gold and wanted to do some shopping, I used that.
