Magic Rings - no level restriction?

I think it would be totally awesome if people didn't use "nerd rage". It has some pretty negative connotations.

I don't think low-level rings add anything to the game. I applaud WotC for making rings into something powerful and memorable, even if the 'hard cap' was removed.

yet it is an apt description of some of the posts I've seen. You can't tell me that someone screaming in ALL CAPS and italics that Wizards is destroying D&D by pandering to 12 year old mmo anime fanboys while swearing up and down that they would do anything legally (or even illegally) possible to prevent 4e (or $e) from being made at all is acting in their right mind.

Granted, that is an extreme example, but I have seen it. It's scary.

If you're going to say something like that, at least give a link to an example. For god's sake.

You post is a good example of why such terms need to be used less or not at all: your immediate description targetted one "half" of the "split" ("quotes" because I am beginning to understand it is actually a continuum), as if the anti 4E people were the only ones likely to "nerd-rage". better, i think, to avoid insulting monickers altogether, along with other forms of snark, and actually discuss the issues at hand.

Can't find the example where someone said they were considering legal action to prevent 4e from being produced (old Concerns and Criticisms board), but here's a prime example:

The one where he describes 4e as making him vomit is one of his more rational posts.

Also, this one:

Hoping to ruin the geek equivilent of a father playing catch with his son with bitterness and spite? That makes ME sick.
