Magic rings

I remember from the preview articles on Wizards website that character of heroic tier could not wear a ring, paragon tier were limited to one and epic tier could have two.

But I don't find that info in the books. Anyone knows ?

From what I've read it's been dropped.

Yeppers. Though, the guidelines (in DMG and PHB) mention rarely finding magic items more than 4 levels above your current level (which means, if you hold that rule hard/fast, then no rings until Level 10).

PHB does say no restrictions on items though. If you're Level 10, and find a Level 20 weapon, you can use it no problem.

Only restrictions on rings seem to be the same as in previous editions. Wear more than two rings and none of them function.

Finally something sensible.

So how is the power level of magical rings? Are they the uber artifacts of doom or just normal items?
What for example does the ring from the Pit Fiend excerpt do (noble signet ring)? Or ist that just a normal, unmagical ring?

Power level seems in line with everything else. Nothing game-breaking.

Just a signet ring. Nothing special unless I missed it.

So much for all the "The Pit Fiend is not weak, we don't know what the ring does" argument.

Does teh Ring of Sustenance still exist?
