Magic Weapon Question?

Can you have a magic weapon with out a attack and damage bonus. Example, a Flaming Longsword or a Returning Shortspear.

not according to the magic item creation system (where i think the +x of the item must be equal to or more than the magic effect bonus), but if you have a lenient DM then talk about it.

Nope. You can indeed have a +1 weapon with another +9 worth of enhancements on it, such as Vorpal, Elemental Aura, and Sure Striking.

If you have no enhancement bonus, you may not add special abilities.

If you have any enhancement bonus at all, even +1, you may add whatever special abilities you want.
