So I had a DM special.
From BG3. Recycled as a mech warrior for gnome pilots. Vulnerable to lightning and bludgeoning. If reduced to less than 25 hp self destruct initiated. As a reaction ejection capsule firing the pilot out. 3 of them had been recycled.
One of the PCs is a Open Hand Monk. One of their abilities shuts down reactions.
Anyway each time they defeated one often the monk had shut down reactions. End of the next turn boom.
So I hammed it up. Gnomish voice.
"Why is the ejection seat not working"?
"Why did I take this job"?
"Tell the wife and kids I...." boom
They had to use revive to get some information.
Gnomes knowing they're doomed.
