Major game issue, need advice.

Yup, you are right 3.5 DMG, page 292. Death attacks. While looking it said that humans come back as Bodaks in 24 hours, I assume thats a typo and means humanoids. We are screwed. Another character failed his save and went down.

Bodaks are nasty. Took out my Rogue in no time. And the group's Paladin. And if that weren't enough, the Paladin's mount.

My Rogue was Resurrected. Paladin didn't want to come back. His Dire Boar mount was Barbequed for dinner that night. :)

Pretty much ditto everyone. Coma, unconscious, etc. Sounds like the fairest good-faith solution for everyone. Have him come here and argue his side with us if he seems skeptical.

Players: Make sure to clearly state what your total roll is. Don't shout out random numbers, like what you rolled or what your bonus is. Only call out your end result. "I get a total of 15" is fine.

DMs: Know your DCs. Duh. And try not to err on the side of instakilling somebody with a death effect.

Thus endeth the lesson.

I already talked to the DM, He said He will keep dwarf down, as redoing the whole combat would take alot of time. But I loss a level for no reason.

Your DM has a lot of gall. "Oh, yeah I screwed up because I can't do math but well, I think you'll have to pay the price by losing a level rather than admit I'm a moron."

Fire him.

Uhh... he already admitted that he was wrong. He didn't even need to bring up that the DC was in fact 15. Now it's just a matter of negotiating a fix.

And for the record, the DC didn't HAVE to be 15. It could have been an advanced bodak. So saying, "But I looked it up in the book, it's 15!" is not necessarily helpful.

The DM was playing it as if the DC was 16 so all you need for that is a normal Bodak with a 14 Cha.

If I was the DM, what I would do is to change the Bodak's Cha to 14 since that would not change anything else about the combat, not have the character raise as a bodak, and allow the character to be resurrected with no xp penalty.

More or less I was reponding to this part...

I already talked to the DM, He said He will keep dwarf down, as redoing the whole combat would take alot of time. But I loss a level for no reason. Anything I can do?

And if the DC is 15 he needs to play the DC as 15. I suspect this DM is up to some dishonest monkey business. Besides, admitting your wrong is one thing, but he's not totally making good on it. If it were me, I would find a way in game to bring him back full or just pretend he was knocked out for the duration. I don't see this happening.
