Making... ROBOCOP

I know it will surely sound weird. But I am likely to attend a "make a here from fiction and represent it in 4e rule, textures can be changed freely." type of one-shot game. The PC will be of 24th-level. All the heroes from various world will be gathered by Mordenkeinen to save the world.

As it seems that there will be no controller, I am thinking about making someone uses full-auto or explosive firearm.

My current choice is ... ROBOCOP!

I am thinking about making him an Warforged Invoker/Paladin Hybrid/Some Paragon Path/Some Epic destiny.

I guess I may call a wand as Auto-9. And Hand of Radiance power will work well as a sweeping shot of the gun. Maybe I should give him (as a texture) some grenade launcher attachment to represent various higher-level Invoker Powers.

By taking a Hybrid Talent (Paladin Armor Proficiency), I can give him Adamantine Plating Full-Plate.

I am going to make him a Str/Wis build, say,

Starting
Str 15, Con 12, Dex 11, Int 10, Wis 17, Cha 08

Final
Str 24, Con 16, Dex 13, Int 10, Wis 24, Cha 10

The final ability score will become higher depend on the choice of Epic Destiny.

Any suggestions or recommendations?

As this is a one-shot, somewhat playful game, he does not need to be highly optimized. But I want to make him at least an effective 24th-level PC while making him look like a ROBOCOP in regard to his powers.

Thanks in advance.

ITEMS

His Invoker powers are mainly area attacks that target enemies (representing the targeting capabilities of Robocop), with some ranged powers to use against single enemies (Sun Shard represents the basic shot).

The Warsoul Hammer is an attached component, as is the Adamantine Plating (both represent the metal hands and body of Robocop). The Rod, of course, it the gun.

That seems nice! Paragon Multiclassing had been totally slipped off from my mind. So as using warsoul weapon as his fist.

I have 2 questions though.

With that build he don't gain damage bonus because he is wearing plate right? It should be OK as ROBOCOP is tough but not so hitty.

And, damage resistance from Adamantine Soldier and Adamantine Plating don't stack up, right?

Just a thought- if I were making Robocop with 4Ed, I'd make a Warforged Hybrid Warlock/Fighter (or other defender, like a Paladin or Battlemind).

Yeah, he's doing less damage, but the resilience of the battlerager and the look of plate armor are what makes him Robocop. A ton of his powers involve him gaining tem hit points or spending healing surges, adding to his durability.

And yeah, the two DRs don't stack. But the Adamantine Plating is there more for the "component" look and the benefit of Component Modification.

The problem is how to achieve an at-will ranged attack to represent his gun. I suppose you could use a Constitution-based warlock/battlemind.

Exactly my line of thought- the Eldritch Blast is good enough as a weapon sim, and over time, you'll add others that would be akin to "special ammo".

Looking at the powers, there are ones that create areas of darkness (smoke grenade?), firebolts (incendiaries) and so forth- enough to do the job.

Perhaps you could even take the multiclassing feat to get your hands on a power from the Wizard or Psion. Magic Missile would make an OK homing round, after all.

Warlock may work to represent him. But the party do need a controller, at least a half-controller, I guess.

So Mighty Battlerage feat does not work right?

Maybe I should take Versatile Expertise (Hammer/Rod) instead. His to-hit rate is rather low.

Regarding Adamantine plating, by the rule any armor works as warforged component. So I may use some other kind of plate armor. Or, making him Undying Warrior instead?

Ok, here's my current plan. A lot of ideas are burrowed from Klaus's build

ITEMS
+5 Rod of First Blood (L23)
+5 Adamantine Plate Legion Plate Armor (L24)
Iron Armbands of Power (L16)
Spiked Soles (L5)
+5 Frightful Spiked Gauntlet (L22)
Goggles of Night (L14)
+5 Amulet of Protection (L21)
Ring of Action Reversal (L20)
Eager' Hero's Tattoo (L10)
Cincture of the Dragon Spirit (L6)
and some other things

Now thanks to the Goggles he has Darkvision (IR vision)

His Initiative bonus is +30 and can roll twice and take the better result

I Expect him to go first and mark multiple opponents with his some Invoker Powers. Thanks to Daunting Challenge feat, attack penalty is now -3.

He may not be as effective a battlerager as the Klaus's first plan, because he is using a pair of spiked gauntlets (so no power which he can add constitution bonus to the damage roll) and also doe not have much Invigorating powers. But he can gain some temporally hit points when hitting someone with his close invoker powers, too.

Also, now his Warforged Resolve is quite nice. He can gain 25 temporary hit points (and 15 HPs if he is bloodied), and can make a save (any, not just against ongoing damage).

He is not at all hitty. He has no significant boost on his Invoker Powers. And he is using a pair of Spiked Gauntlets (d6 weapon). Attached Warhammer was tempting. But I wanted to reflect his style (holding an Auto-9 and leaving the other hand free, or have both hands free). So instead, I gave him some more tricky fighter powers which needs a hand free. As I can make Auto-9 (rod) an embedded component, he can stew or retrieve the gun in his thigh as a minor action when needed to do so.

One trick is his incredibly high intimidate skill modifier. That is now 33. If he uses Shroud of Awe (Minor) and Steely Persuasion (free), it becomes +45. I expect him to say "You are under arrest!" against a bloodied enemy and let it surrender :)
