Malebranche now a demon

Anyone else noticed the Dwarf wizard is wearing heavy armor yet? It appears they've finally done away with ASF.
Is that actually armor, or just a bunch of Dwarven Bling? ;)

I hadn't actually noticed that--thanks for pointing it out.

The dwarf wearing armor wouldn't be inconsistent with ASF still being in the game. This seems like the sort of thing that would come under those racial talents they've talked about. Dwarven fighters will probably be wearing approximately an engine block, so even the wizards of the dwarven race can manage some studded leather. It sure as hell looks like armor to me.

I like the human fighter. Dude looks pretty rag-tag. I'm not a fan of the new look for the dryad - I was fond of having occasional cheesecake in the MM for no good reason. That elf's stance looks kind of off to me.

Yeah, with a free belly for the next Orc tos stick his spear into.

But if the chicks show midriff, why not the hunks, eh?

If we now see a midriff bared dwarf I am gonna blay BESM. :(

Howdy Epic Meepo! :)

Apparently, you're right. Of course, the succubus is now a devil; archons now look surprisingly like elemental creatures; and the Abyss is now an inner plane. To say nothing about all those melee-happy bards who broke into the armory, did some push-ups, and became warlords. So I guess we shouldn't really be surprised.

Will Archons be to Demons what Angels are to Devils?

They both seem to have elemental themes.

It looks good to me, esp. if that's the form a Dryad uses for combat. For my out-of-combat RPG uses, they can still be beautiful females if I need them to be, but since use minis for combat, this shouldn't affect me much.

Some of it's decent, but I don't care much for the green dragon, looks too generic. As soon as I saw the Trog all I could here was "He's not a baby, he's a fidgit!"

Um. Howdy.

Will Archons be to Demons what Angels are to Devils?
It certainly looks that way. Which kinda annoys me. Why are they trying to hedge out all the cool but oft-neglected elemental beings by making the already popular archons and demons into elementals? Instead of migrating popular creatures over to the elemental planes, they should be making traditional elemental beings cooler.

I'm curious why the completely remade Troglodyte isn't raising more of a kerfuffle, though. Not that anybody seemed too offended when kobolds changed with every new edition...
The 4E Trog actually looks like his stats. 5' tall, 150lb., 2HD, +4 Con, -2 Dex and great natural armor all read to me 'brickhouse.' Those thick claws would be usefull to dig underground. Hell, trogs might even get to climb like lizards in 4E to create encounters right out of Aliens in a normal looking cavern...
