Malifaux Experiences?

I'm wondering what experiences people have had with the Malifaux miniatures skirmish game.

It looks like an interesting mix of fantasy elements with some novel game mechanics. On the other hand, lots of work going in to preparation and also looks $$$.

The game itself I have never played but as a painter I LOVE their miniatures. Very well molded and the poses suggest personalities.
