Managing attachments - Can't if thread is length locked

I was figuring I would clear out unnecessary, old attachments from my account. And I found (again, as I'm sure I've tried this before), that if the thread the attachment was posted to was closed/locked due to the Thousand Post limit, then the attachments are locked as well, and cannot be deleted.

Any mods have an idea of a way around that, as I'd prefer to clear out unnecessary things from my limit since they count against said attachment limit, but can't due to this interaction of these sub-systems.

I can't think of any reason I would bump them, twasn't the reason for the request.

On that note, all set. Thank you very much. My attachments list is much shorter and more manageable now.
