And that's when it was ruined forever right?![]()
I like the SE more than the internet although ESB was the only one outright improved by them.

Agreed.I like the SE more than the internet although ESB was the only one outright improved by them.
Agreed.
SE version of A New Hope is rubbish. All the digital stuff looks pasted on, and the extra scene with Han and Jabba doesn't really add anything.
SE version of Empire Strikes Back is actually good. Most minor additions, like some extra moons and scenes out the windows in Cloud City. Nothing major.
SE version of Return of the Jedi is mostly OK. The main thing I don't like about it is that fuzzy singer guy who's obviously meant to be viewed with 3D glasses. The added ending scenes are OK in the context of being inclusive of the prequels. I guess the only other quibble I might have was Lucas replacing Shaw with Christensen as Anakin's Force ghost.
I'm glad I managed to get the box set that came with both the original theatrical releases and the special editions so I can watch either depending on what mood I'm in.
I read somewhere recently that when Rangers of the New Republic got scrapped, they incorporated some of its material into Mando S3 (and Ahsoka S1). That could explain why it felt like some random stuff got chucked in there.Despite everything else, I would agree on this. It felt like they'd planned the finale and realized they could get to it in like 4 episodes at most, so chucked a bunch of other stuff around to make time. And in the finale itself they made a lot of narrative leaps which could have exploited the stuff they set up, but didn't.
Random thought: It'd be a cool closed-loop of Star Wars / D&D crossover if it was mentioned that the Mind Flayer machines were originally developed by the Quarren. Also, Cara Dune mentions late in S1 that she doesn’t want to be “uploaded to a mind flayer”. We finally got to see what she meant in S3.

Like I bet the whole extended sequence with Dr Pershing on Coruscant was originally going to be in Rangers. I wouldn’t be surprised if the pirates were originally going to be a Rangers storyline too. Maybe even the Zeb cameo.
To me that's like, the opposite of cool, it's the cheapest and nerdiest of fan service, especially as it'd go into canon and likely be brought up endlessly. If, on the other hand, we saw a Quarren operating a mind flayer, that'd just be a neat little visual joke. YMMV.Random thought: It'd be a cool closed-loop of Star Wars / D&D crossover if it was mentioned that the Mind Flayer machines were originally developed by the Quarren.
