Map of the RPG Community

Oh my, yes! I'm not really a video-gamer (the only one I really play is Civilization), and so I'm very much on the outskirts of that hobby. It very much amazes me how much traffic Civfanatics gets, and then there are even more popular sites...

Thanks for doing this, Morrus. It's very interesting - and a wonderful way of depicting it.

(I've just been trying to see the membership numbers of ConSimWorld.org - the main wargaming site - with no luck).

Cheers!

Wow, thanks for this Morrus - what fun.

Out of curiosity, can you tell us how many unique visitors EN World gets daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly? And of those unique visitors, how many are members?

Not until we upgrade the server. Counting the stats is too much for the poor thing right now.

I've already started doing that; it's a hell of a pain, though! But the plan is a clickable map for navigation of the RPG community (well, at least areas of it with 3000 members or more).

I want to make sure I haven't missed anything, though. There's a rough start on that here (slightly older version of the map, though).
Sweet. That'll be something to really look forward to. I know what a PITA clickable maps can be, so enjoy finishing it up, hehe. ;)

very impressive :) don't suppose it could be populated with monster types matching the characteristics of the 'typical' user/ topics of each site?

Just as a bit of fun . . . you could take the prevalence of certain types of 'indicative' threads and build from that, e.g. massive or frequent threads on DMs' advice, music in RPGs and death of RPGs maybe populated by archmages, wailing banshees and a few ghouls.
