First Post
After looking at the horror that was Map Folio II, I decided to release a line of products that had nothing but maps.

Problem is, my wife reminded me after my merciless review of MF2 that some people might think I'm attempting to slam someone elses work to promote my own.

Solution? Give the maps away for free as a gift to the gaming community.

What do I mean give away? I mean these are going to be OGL. Post 'em. Use 'em in your PDF or print product. I really don't care as long as you give basic credit.

First though, I want your opinion of these two styles and how they work for you:

Drawn:

CGI:

You opinions can be tallied above poll

I voted for the hand-drawn version...while a nice, crisp map has its uses (preciseness as a DM), I feel more inspired by maps that look musty & realistic, especially as player hand-outs...I can't well give my players a map with crisp, perfect lines in a world with no computers...

I think most, say 75% ish, of the "book" (pdf) should be the hand drawn style, where maps that have lots of detail you simply can't hand draw should be rendered _as well_. Best of both worlds!

I like the hand drawn better - but I would strive to be just a bit more precise with a couple of elements: the shaded in areas and the lettering. But I like - I'll certainly yoink this one.

I like the style of the handdrawn maps a lot more then the cgi version (to sterilized), but the handdrawn version could benefit from some (more) digital enhancements. The text in a nice script font, etc.
