Mapping Software

First Post
Well I've been looking around some different mapping software and was wondering what everyone around here did for maps. I know about CC2 and Dundjinni, but I'm not exactly in love with either one of them. Are there any other alternative mapping softwares out there?

Hi Anna! long time no read ;)

I use NBOS for home game use, its pretty quick and efficient. Never used the other ones you mentioned.

Hi Shane! I own a copy of NBOS but haven't done a lot with it.

out of curiousity,
When you make a map with a piece of software and put it in a published book (pdf or print) do you have to pay the software creator? Do you need to put what software made it?

I like Illustrator. It was my first love in design school and however many years later I still dig it. Plus there's tons of new cool textures, graphic elements and brushes in the CS versions.

P.S. Jason, those are beautiful maps! The pattern you use for shading is gorgeous. Wow.
