Marked by Destiny, Marked by Tragedy (Erekose13 Judging)

[sblock=Alysina] "What? Oh certainly." Robillan pulls a quill and paper from his bedside table and begins scribbling furiously in an elaborate but surprisingly neat and legible hand. When he is finished he presses his still slightly burnt dragonmark to the paper and a brief flicker of arcane energy passes from gnome to parchment. "There you are, this arcane-marked document should grant you full rights to peruse my laboratory."

While the flames have died down, the house does not look particularly safe to enter. With exceptional skill and agility Alysina might be able to get through unharmed but it would be unlikely.

ooc: If she approches the watchmen regardless, Alysina can make a spot and listen check to hear/see what's going on in there.

Incidentily, going to The Twelve might be difficult, being as the actual institution is based in Karrnath. That said a good knowledge nobility roll will get you the name and addresses of a number of dragonmarked lords with connections to the Twelve. Otherwise you'd have to be content with either Morgrave University or several days worth of correspondance via house Sivis message-stations, dealing with low-level clerks until they decided whether your claim was worth putting through to a higher authority.

[SBLOCK=Alysina](OOC: How about Knowledge Local? I'd like to have Knowledge Nobility (and it makes a lot of sense based on her background, as she know a lot of nobles in Aundair), but the class doesn't grant it as a class skill. Knowledge Arcana? Any Aundairan nobles that would show up untrained considering her circumstances?

She can also go to Morgrave--Alysina has friends at Morgrave from her last adventure.

If the fire isn't down yet, she'll try these avenues first) [/SBLOCK]

[sblock=Alysina] OOC: Knowledge local would be sufficient, although the DC would be higher as the Twelve isn't local in itself. Familiarity with Aundairan nobles wouldn't really be much help here as the Twelve is a strictly dragonmarked institution. If you decide to go the Morgrave route a much easier knowledge local or gather information check will get you the name and department of a professor with some knowledge of dragonmarks. If you wish to use your existing contacts (whether they be from Morgrave, dragonmarked or whatever), give me a short description of them or a link and provided it’s okay by LEB rules for me to co-opt them I’ll be happy to make use of them for this adventure. [sblock=Marshal]Weapon shrugged. "I was not told of any vault. The master did not confide that in me." The simple truth. But Weapon suspected he knew what was inside, and where it was now. It would not be there, though. What was so important? "I cannot help you open it."[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=Alysina]Probably can't make it then--only have +8. Too bad, it was so easy to find The Twelve in Stormreach during the free trial I played of DDO

The prof she knows was an expert in Dhakaani studies from Cyre. He might not be appropriate except as a contact to ask for someone else. Kn: Local Morgrave was 18.[/SBLOCK]

"He claims they are chosen of the grand design. His eyes have the spark of faith. It will be tested by death, or not at all," Arvan says.

Silvanon d'Thuranni, Rogue 1 - Hp: 7/7

"I have the feeling that his faith is going to fail -- for I do not see it shielding his neck from a dagger..." says Silvanon, whose eyes are still firmly centered on the magical box.

"I hope our lady is having more luck at the hospital."

Brelach, Silvanon, Arvan and Bennit

The kobold appears more angry than afraid. In fact, looking at its lack of reaction to Arvan's later words, it dawns on you that perhaps the kobold may not actually speak common. It snarls once more.

[sblock=draconic] "I know the righteousness of our cause, which is more than can be said for you. If you live long enough, maybe you will realise the truth of your place in the world. You are the 'Chosen' correct? I was instructed to leave you a message. 'If the child of Syberis and Khyber waxes ascendant, shadow bathed by the light of three moons will end its madness.' I know not what it means, but it is by the will of the Prophet that it is given to the bronze-blooded Speaker called Chosen. I will say no more." [/sblock]

[sblock=Brelach]ooc: Can I get a use rope check for the prisoners Brelach? Probably should have asked for it earlier but there ya go. [/sblock]

[sblock= Spot check DC 15]
She's making a good effort to hide it, though her panic is making her more clumsy than she might have been, but while the group is more preoccupied with the kobold the halfling is attempting to loosen the ropes binding her to the support beam. She doesn't appear to be listening to the kobold at all, evidently she either has no interest in what it's saying or she doesn't speak a word of draconic.[/sblock]

[sblock=Weapon] "Khyber" the young human swore, "You have no idea at all? Whatever was in there it was what the attackers felt was worth burning this place down for." He shrugs, "In any case, it's not going anywhere. It can wait till morning." He heads past weapon back to the door, beckoning to the warforged to follow.

"I doubt we'll need to search the rest of the house, the fire will have done for anything not similarly protected. We'll be heading back now, I'm going to want you to come to the Deneith Enclave for further questioning warforged. Don't worry, my men will be keep any intruders out while you're occupied." If Weapon follows, he heads cautiously down the wreck of the stairs and out of the building.[/sblock]
