Marked By Destiny, Marked by Tragedy Part 2 (No Judge Yet)

(OOC: Very true. I'm surprised that the DC is 18+ That's hardcore for a Will Save at this level.)

ooc: Are you estimating that DC because you believe the spellgrace ability should have been included? I thought it had been kept seperate because it wasn't clear whether the illusion/memory was a spell effect or not.

OOC: The trouble with Metagaming, it gets you in trouble ;) And yeah, I hear you on Spellthieves. It's a cool concept, but it's usefullness is very GM dependant on having Spellcasters available as enemies, and THEN having something else shortly thereafter. They have a few other cool abilities at least, so they aren't wholely dependant on that, but it nuters their coolest ability.

Brelach will get ready to fight, then. If able to, he'll line up for a sneak attack on Ranya - can Spellthieves steal spells from Warlocks? Probably not, I suppose.

Ranya is hanging upside down from the ceiling using spider climb. Flanking her would be non-trivial. Don't spellthieves have some abilities related to spell like abilities? Those might be applicable, if you can explain how you're getting the sneak attack.

[sblock=Patlin]

I've always wondered about Spider Climb -- it says you have to have your hands free to cast it/use the ability, so I've seen interpretations of the spell being that you can't cast spells or attack while hanging out on the walls/ceilings, and I've also seen interpretations where you can perform most standard actions while spider climbing.

Yup. When I ran one in a RL game, I got to steal spells until about 2nd level, when the GM decided his job was to "counter" our abilities, and so instead focused every adventure around Ogres. Which, two years down the road, *still* ticks me off.

That being said, they're still my favourite class, and I thought it'd be worth playing one, what with this being Eberron and all. So, just a shout out, if we ever get a chance where I can steal a spell, let me have it. Please, I beg of you. :)

Previously
Silvanon fails his will save, and continues to be entranced by the illusions.

[Still no action from Weapon, unless I missed it.]

Brelach is also entranced, but if he doesn't act to prevent it he will be cut off from the support of friendly troops by the attacking Deneith forces.

Round 2 Continues
Ranya fires another eldritch blast, striing weapon for 8 damage. (I don't believe DR helps with an Eldritch Blast.) Ranya v. Weapon (1d20+5=15, 2d6=8)

*Alys continues to take cover behind Weapon (though if the real cave, not the illusion, has something better that gives more cover like a stalagmite, she'll hide behind that instead) and moves the Dancing Lights as needed if Ranya moves to keep her in sight. She begins to cast Sleep.*

(OOC: Ironically, all of the Beguiler's level 1 attack spells have a Will save negates. This probably won't work, but at least Will save or Sleep is better than Will save or 2d6 damage from Whelm. Hey, it's worth a shot! Plus maybe the full round casting time will make the Warlock waste her shot at the person with cover)

Since Weapon made his save he believes that some or possibly all of the Deneith soldiers are illusions. The ones he's actually interacted with are definitely illusions. He can also see a warlock dangling from the ceiling, blasting away. While both her hands are free, she seems able to move one hand away from her climbing efforts to direct her blasts.
