Hearing the rats' approach, Brelach shouts "get down!" for no real reason. He'll rush forward and slash at them if he wins initiative - stabbing at them as fast as he can.

Attack, +1d6 sneak attack damage (1d20+2=14, 1d8+1d6=5)

(It doesn't do much)

If the rats win initiative, Brelach will instead stay back, attacking any rats that get close to him.

Seeing the swarm approach, Weapon quickly lobs his last flask of bottled fire at them. The screams of scorched rats echos down the corridor!

Silvanon is somewhat confused by the mass of rats,"They're just rats!"

His disbelief in seeing a swarm of rats moving in a menacing fashion causes him to react slowly to the threat. Finally, after seeing all of his companions take action, he snaps out of his malaise.

He nocks an arrow, but his concentration and aim are off, sending it into the wall, well away from the swarm.

Arvan steps forward to meet the swarm and unleashes fire from his hands.

OOC: Arvan casts burning hands. (2d4=5), and if he is close enough, Arvan claws at a close target (1d20+3=20, 1d6+2=4) (He get a free claw with a spell cast due to a feat)

(OOC: D'oh--forgot Arvan was actually a Sorc with Burning Hands! Remember, you get 150% damage against swarms!)

OOC: Yeah, he doesn't come accross like that. If he was 3rd level, he'd get 4d4 on that (or have 9 points of fire resistance, but I think I would have went caster level)

Brelach dashes to meet the aproaching rats, hitting them before they really get moving and scewering one on his blade. He deals 1 damage to the swarm.

ooc/reduced damage: Swarms are not subject to sneak attack damage, and piercing damage is 1/2 normal.

Weapon hurls a flask at the swarm, which shatters and splashes the rats with fire for 9 damage.

The swarm of rats crawls over Brelachs body, allowing him another chance to attack, biting and scratching for 6 damage. (Wik may roll an AOO and a Fort save.)

Silvanon launches some arrows at the swarm, without effect.

Arvan moves up and casts burning hands, managing to target the rats without bathing Brelach in flames. He deals 7 damage, and causes a general panic amongst the rats. With a swipe of his claw, he sends the rats remaining on Brelach flying, dissipating the swarm.
