i just realized all the ranged-focused traditions have names without possessives, while the rest have names with possessives. was that intentional, or just a weird coincidence?
Utterly unintentional. Just a weird happy happenstance!
Will we know which martial classes will be proficient in any of these new combat traditions?
The Gunslinger gets Deepwood Sniper, Thundering Bombard, and Trickshot Chicanery.

The Tactician Warmage gets Thundering Bombard.

The different traditions will have a "Suggested List" of other classes who can get proficiency for free, but the general narrator advice is that they should be used as rewards or specifically sought traditions for the most part.

For example Heralds getting Inquisitor's Brand, or Marshals and Savants getting Surgeon's Precision.

Though, hey. So long as you can convince your narrator to let you use it for your character, who am I to judge if your Berserker uses combat medic techniques?

Sometimes I hate my brain.

Gonna write down what I've got and put it aside for a future book or something 'cause it's maddening... But I do like the idea of a whole "Short Rest Adventure Team" including the heals/support...
