Good Lord, it's beautiful! It rocks a lot! Wow!

If I ever get around to buying M&M, this is the game I want to run. Man! it was cool.

Alright, I'm done now.

Yes, yes it is. Been discussed around here a couple of times. This was the first comic series I've ever read that was so good, I picked up individual issues instead of waiting for the paperbacks.

The second series is coming out now, but I haven't looked at it yet, been busy. I don't think Gaiman is writing for it any more.

I did run a MnM game set in 1622, and it was very, very sweet.

Correct. Gaiman wrote the 1602 series and that was it. He left it so that Marvel could eat it's cake and have it, too...that is, to say that it was a alternate universe story, but also leave it in a state that adventures could continue in that continuity. The new series follows up from that point. It's not even close to the original, but it's not bad, per se.

It was a pale attempt at best.

Well, I'm not really a big comics person-I've read my dad's big box of old comics, Watchmen, and now Marvel 1602.

I never was, either, but I got into it with some of the Ultimate marvel lines, and branched out from there. Be careful, your bank account will never be the same. :)

I recommend the Neil Gaiman Sandman books, which are awesome and very easy to get. Get the first volume (Preludes and Nocturnes) from the library, like it, and get all the rest. You know you want to.

I wasn't that impressed with 1602. It was ok, but compared to Gaiman's other work, it wasn't anywhere near as good as I had hoped for.

Were you at all a fan of Marvel characters before you read 1602? I was, and for me that made it really cool to see them in the 17th century.
