Masterwork bonus type

Well, it's never actually named in the PHB, where it talks about creating an buying masterwork weapons.

If finding an short-hand reference to it in the magic item section of the DMG makes you feel special and superior, more power to you. *shrug*

Goodness. Can't you EVER just say something like - "oh yes, I forget about that reference. Yep - you're right?" instead of being snide. Maybe you didn't sleep well - or are you still recovering from a scorpion bite (wow - that still amazes me - did you say 6 scorpion stings? I'll not be moving to your part of Arizona anytime soon!)

Well! That was exceptionally pissy. I know why he's like this with me, but with Artoomis? I must have missed something. Oh well.

I probably would have, if you hadn't added in that "hee hee it's fun to prove Caliban wrong" comment. You decided to make a big deal about it.

Maybe I'm a little tired of people going over everthing I say with a microscope in the hopes of catching me out on something just so they can make a big deal about it. I've never claimed to be infallible, why is it so suprising that I occasionally miss a detail?

For you, it's apparently appropriate to make comments like that, yet if I respond to it, I'm being snide and "exceptionally pissy."

Interesting double standard there.

Well, I don't want to beat this to death, but you have all but said you were infallible on the base rules (not on interpreting them, but on knowing what they are). This makes it fun to spot errors in what you say if it is a clear, in print error or oversight. Everyone makes mistakes, sure - and it IS true that you don't make many when it comes to knowing what is in the PHB and DMG.

It was meant in good fun, but I suppose you've gotten a little sensitive over time.

My comment was "hee hee it's fun to prove Caliban wrong..."

Yours was: "If ... makes you feel special and superior, more power to you."

I can see how you could be a bit sensitive to my comment. Fine. I'll try not to tease you if you'll try and be a little more polite even when you are a bit tired/scorpion stung/or reacting to a rude post.

Fair enough?

Easy there.

If it makes anybody feel better, remember that masterwork tools, thieve's tools or instruments, give a circumstance bonus.
Circumstance bonuses stack with one another, provided they do not arise out of the same circumstance.

So, I'd say circumstance bonus, arising from the fact that it is a a masterwork item, should it ever matter.

(Then there's a special rule that says a weapon cannot have both a masterwork circumstance bonus and a magical enhancement bonus. But that's not a problem.)

I have never said this. Other people have said this about me, and every time I have made a point of saying that I'm not. Yes, I'm very well versed on the rules and I don't make a lot of errors, but I'm not and never will be infallible. I don't have a problem with people pointing out my mistakes, what bothers me if people making a big deal about it, as if they achieved something by catching me in an error. I try not to do that to other people, I just try to give them the correct information.

I don't appreciate being singled out. It's as simple as that.

My comment was "hee hee it's fun to prove Caliban wrong..."

Yours was: "If ... makes you feel special and superior, more power to you."

That does pretty much sum up my feelings about those types of comments.

I can see how you could be a bit sensitive to my comment. Fine. I'll try not to tease you if you'll try and be a little more polite even when you are a bit tired/scorpion stung/or reacting to a rude post.

I generally do try to be polite in my posts. A little teasing is fine, but I felt your comment was a snide remark, not teasing, which is why I reacted as I did.

I was willing to let it drop after that, but both you and kreynolds saw fit to let me know I wasn't behaving up your standards.

You may think I'm being oversensitive, and that's your prerogative. Myself, I think you were a little oversensitive in your own reaction. *shrug*

Ya' know, there was a really good post a little while back about "getting thicker skin". You should look into that. I used to have "thin skin" too, back when I first came onto these boards. But I'm happy to say that after dealing with you (not an insult) that my skin has naturally thickened.

Speaking of "thin skin", you don't really have anything to complain about when it comes to being "singled out". You aren't being "singled out" because people think you are infallable. You are being singled out just like the rest of us. It happens to everyone. We make a post, it has an error, and someone is always there to say we are wrong.

For the record, I don't have any standards for you to "live up to". Truth be told, this is a really simple matter. I can be real jack*** when I want to be, so it makes it really easy for me to identify when somebody else is being one. I just didn't think Artoomis' post warranted such a snippy reply from you. I didn't attack you. I was just trying to figure out what crawled up your ***.

I like having you around because you are so well versed in the rules. I don't have standards for you to live up too and I don't think you are perfect. That said, know that this post is not meant to berate you. I do this out of respect from one poster to another. Cool?

Yeah, we're cool. Not sure why you felt it necessary to include me in this thread, though.
