One thing that can be said about gaming today, whether you like or dislike any of the above. It certainly isn't boring.

There hasn't been this much hubub amongst gamers since 3.5. It's an exciting time to be a gamer.

No mention of the Transformers movie? You mean not everyone is trying to figure out how to make wild-shaping warforged?
 

It was better a couple years ago with really cool products to talk about and my rose colored glasses say people complained less then too. :D

I seem to remember negative uproar by the bucket load in reference to 3.5, not to mention 3.0.

Sadly, I don't find any of the announcements listed above to be particularly exciting. What is exciting to me is the increased publication of adventures.

Round here 3.0 was an exciting time. There was not a lot of people on Noah's boards that were really agonizing over the change. 3.5 was thought to be too soon, but again plenty of people felt the changes made were overall very good. One of the nice things was the community hadn't yet fragment as much as it is now.
