Volunteers Needed...

Hey Gang,

Game day is quickly approaching and we have some admin stuff we need to do. I am looking for volunteers to do the following:

(1) Make professional looking Master Schedule and Game Slot/Game Table Schedule boards. Ideally these would be on foam-core poster board and large enough to be easily readable. Two each for the Master Schedule, AM Slot and PM Slot would be awesome. The Master Schedule would be just that and the Game Slot/Game Table boards would have the Table #, Game/Genre and DM for each table listed.

The NCGD folks used boards that had the logo for the various game systems for each slot...looked pretty spiffy!

We could also use 3-4 printed directional signs for TerpCon with Floor/Room # on them for various entrances to the student center.

(2) Help with set-up and take down. I plan on being there all day, but could use 3-4 other dedicated souls to help get things organized in the AM and make sure the room is ready for shut down in the PM. Any takers?

(3) Someone to digitize directions, maps, parking instructions, food vendors available and floorplan and post them in a downloadable format (ala .pdf file) in our various threads. Although we could link them to the University site...the floorplan is pretty small, so a blown-up map would be nice.

(4) I am sure I am missing some other Admin stuff...what else do we need?

I will be out-of-town with no e-mail access from 8/14 - 8/22, so let's see all of this taken care of by the time I get back ;)!

I hope to be there early as well, before 8 if I don't get lost, and can lend a hand getting things together and organizing what, where & when.

Count me in for any and all help you need. Starting friday, I'm a 2 min walk away from the student union, so I'm happy to help with anything.

Thanks!

Greetings Gang,

A couple of items:

(1) DRM (Kevin) - Can we get table number/number stands (frequently used in banquest) from the nice student union folks? If not, does anyone have a line on where we could borrow 10-15 of these for the day? I would like to at least have the dedicated gaming tables numbered for ease of navigation.

Also, do they (student union) have sign stands or easels we can use to display our signage?

(2) Rodrigo has offered to help with the signage...can anyone assit him? I am a bit challenged in the graphics artist category, so I am next to useless. What I would like to see are the following:

* 2 Posterboard signs listing the Games by Table #, Genre and DM for each session

* 3-4 Posterboard directional signs to TerpCon '04 with the Room Name and Floor on it

(3) Can anyone put together and digitize a Map/Directions set that we can attach as a file to this thread? Anyone? Anyone? Buehler?

(4) DRM (Kevin) this one is for you again...are there any prohibitions to bringing non-alcoholic beverages into the SU? For instance, can I buy a pallet or two of Mountain Dew and other assorted caffiene-laced products and have them available in coolers for our attendees? We wouldn't be selling them...just giving them away.

Along those lines, anyone have an industrial strength cooler they would be willing to bring?

(5) Those kind souls that have offered to help with set-up/take-down...plan on meeting me on-site right at 8:00am to help get things organized. I will probably have 2-3 specific duties identified prior to the event and will post those here as they develop.

What am I missing?

Hey all,

Rich (Cthulhu's Librarian) and I will probably be bringing some swag from the ENnies to distribute. Any bright ideas about how to distribute it? I don't know how much Rich is bringning, but I should have 10-20 books.

Psion,

With that many books, one way might be to have each table per session vote for a "Roleplayer of the Game". Those chosen could then dice or pull numbers from a hat for swag selection. We don't really have a tournament set up...so that is the best I can think of on short notice.
