Is that a 4e thing? I'm quite fond of that idea.I quite miss using an action to spend a healing surge/hit dice in combat. Because I dont see hp as meat I dont have any dissonance with the mechanic. I also like the tactical choice to do so.

Actually, that's an official variant in the DMG (pg 266, Healing Surges).I quite miss using an action to spend a healing surge/hit dice in combat. Because I dont see hp as meat I dont have any dissonance with the mechanic. I also like the tactical choice to do so.
About morale rules, since there are morale rules in the DMG for NPCs are the ones you are referring to for PCs or some different mechanics? My list is fairly simple:
Morale rolls
Reaction rolls
Negative hitpoints
10 minute exploration turns (something i noficed pathfinder 2e has reincorporated)
Haha! Yeah. I've notice that one person's crap is another person's treasure. Seems to be a recurring theme on message boards. So has anyone done a comparison of this to the mechanics you do not want to see return? Because it seems like there may be a decent amount of overlap.![]()
That's what it's for: it's from 1e Gamma World, used to walk through the process of figuring out how to use ancient technologyYou may have meant it in humour, but that flowchart (though extreme) and its associated idea of trial by error is pretty much what I'm after.
