Well, I was looking for a name for a type of monster that I'm converting- a "gulgar maceman" is what I'm looking at so far.

That changes things considerably. Consider the nature of the monster and its culture. If it's savage, something like 'Smasher' or 'Basher', as suggested above is certainly evocative. If it's more civilized, come up with some pretentious name for it based on what they call their units.

Just saying that in this instance I'd base this not on what we'd call a mace-wielder, but rather what they call their mace-wielders.

Usually you all someone with a mace "Sir." :p

But since it's for a monster I'd go with bludgeoner or skull crusher or somesuch.

To add something to the mace-ive amount of options:

maciator (fake latin derived from medieval latin)

or

Starwielder / Starbearer (if you don't minde confusing maces with morning stars)

or E-mace-iator :p
