Medical Update - T Cell Count

Angelsboi

First Post
For the uninformed:

Knowing how many T4 cells you have – which is determined by blood tests ordered by your doctor – can tell you how healthy your immune system is and how well it is holding up in the fight against HIV.

The normal T4 count is somewhere between 500 and 1500 cells per cubic millimeter of blood (a drop, more or less). In the absence of anti-HIV treatment, the T4 cell count decreases, on average, about 50 to 100 cells each year. AIDS-related diseases (opportunistic infections) such as Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP) can occur if your T4 count falls below 200. And a large number of other infections can occur if it drops below 50 to 100 cells.

To let everyone know, mine is 10. Yes. 10 T Cells.

Wow, that's hard news to hear. Hard, but not unbeatable. There are good treatment options around these days, so hang in there.

We're here for you if you need us.

Damn... reading the number 10 at the end of that post makes me want to say a LOT of things Eric's Grandma wouldn't approve of.

I'm so, so, very sorry to hear that things look so bleak Angelsboi. Like Surfal said... hang in there.

Ugh. I've been gone a long time. When did this happen Angel? To say to you that I'm just 'sorry' is an understatement. But unfortunately, right now I'm pretty much at a loss for words.

I'm sorry.

Hang tough, AB. Eat right, exercise, get plenty of sleep, reduce stress and follow doctor's orders. Goddess shelter you in her hands; God lead you to strength.
