Meeting EN Worlders in real life

CANCON is a wargaming/board gaming/roleplaying/Card Games/Computer games con. It's very large and has been around a long time (I think 2003 is it's 25th year), but it's roleplaying support these days is very poor
(unfortunately this seems true for most sydney cons at the moment, too...

Tell me about it...

Pheno is purely Roleplaying (we've had one or two card games occasionally, and sometimes had some other events), and usually offers 25-30 games for 7 or 8 sessions. The last few years we've had around 150 attendees, which is much smaller than CANCON, but quality is more important than quantity to us.

Amen to that.

Haven't met anyone either, unfortunately. NYC isn't terribly gamer friendly, as someone has already pointed out.

Hey KS and Leo, we'll find a way to hang out at some point and raise a glass.

:D

I live in a remote place in the abyss

I havent posted much on here and have only just begun frequenting the site but havent met anyone on the boards as far as i know. We dont see to many gamers here in Paris BFE Texas
If any of you live nearby i wouldnt mind meeting any of you

I know there are a few other ENWorlder's who go to the same local game store as I do (Gamer's Realm in West Windsor, NJ), but I don't know if I've ever been there at the same time as them and just didn't know it.

I've only met one person on here (well, it might have been Eric Noah's site at that time, long time lurker here.. :) ), but anyway, I was living in Ottawa at the time and someone posted to the Gamers Seeking Gamers for a place I was going to be living in the US, and we do game sporadically (though he's living in Des Moines now).. other than that, I'm living here in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and haven't met anyone else since I've been living here in the states.. going into gaming withdrawals.. *laughs*

One of these days I'll make it out to a GenCon, been reading about those ever since I picked up a Dragon #50 WAY back.. and I'm addicted to reading PCat's story hour.. perhaps one of these days I'll get to meet PCat and Eric and many others I read about on ENworld..

G'day

I haven't met any ENworlders yet (that I know of: damn these pseudonyms), but I'm planning to take a leisurely road trip from Vancouver to Tucson (or Tucson to Vancouver) some time next year, and I'd like to make an series of opportunities to meet people along the way.

Regards,

Agback

Agback, when you make the trip feel free to drop me a line. I live in Tempe, just outside of Phoenix (90 minutes north of Tucson). You can email me at: russellk@engineer.com

As for meeting people from ENWorld, I haven't met any. I was planning on attending the Con in SoCal next November, but it has been postponed until April 2004. :( I will try to make it in 2004, maybe while I am there I can meet a few people.

It seems odd that I haven't met anyone from here yet since I met my wife on line years ago. She was in Edmonton and I was in Phoenix, but we made it work.

I have seen several people that have listed AZ as their location, but I have never tried to meet any of them. Maybe I will try to plan a convoy to the SD GenCon in 2004 from AZ. Anyone in, if you sign up today I will pay for your gas from AZ to CA and back? :)

If I ever make it down to Australia, I'll have to do so bumming off of EN Worlders for tour guides and amusement. :D

I'd wager you just need to mention you're in the country, and the small horde of Enworld Aussies will line up to plan your itenerary and provide accomodation.

Maybe it's time to give the enworld Mod world tour thread down in meta a bit of a bump :)

Edit: Hmmm. Looks like they've already started :)

I recently had the great pleasure of meeting and gaming with my first ENWorlder that I didn't already know. It was Old One.

This was made all the more special of course because he is the guy who created the Faded Glory campaign setting that I stole wholecloth for my own game. He was a really nice guy and I hope to get a chance to see him and other ENWorlders in the future.

In fact, I think there is some talk of possibly doing a NC gameday after the first of the year. I should get to meet lots of folks from around here then.

I met ENWorld through Swack-Iron and Sialla, rather than the other way around.

I'd love to meet more ENWorlders, but that would require a trip to the Bad Coast (aiiiieee!) or to GenCon (unlikely, but Mr. Mythago might be going).

Not my FLGS but I have gone there on occasion, mostly for the minis selection.
