[MEG] New Open World Press-1B: Village of Oester

I work for B&N and though we don't regularly carry MEG items in the store I've special ordered some of their things for myself. Not all of MEG's titles are in the system and some aren't listed as being in the warehouses, but for the titles that are listed and I'm interested in I order. That's how I got my copy of Hamlet of Thumble. Infact most of the role playing materials that are in my store are there because either I or a co-worker have ordered them for ourselves and we've gotten replenishment copies, or I've "short listed" the titles to carry in the store.

Cool! Thanks for taking the time to special order the book and even help get copies on the shelves! I really appreciate that. I'd just like the books to get on the shelves and let the consumers judge for themselves if they like it or not.

Please let me know what you think of The Hamlet of Thumble when you get a chance! ;)

That is a seriously creepy cover picture. A mermaid with the lower half of a squid? Sick. I'm reminded of a line from South Park that I better not repeat here.

Jeremy, I can't tell if you like it or not. :)

Are you going with the one version? Or have you decided on two?

One version as a limited print run.

I may release an unedited PDF version at some point, if there is enough interest. However, I am generally not inclined to do any PDF products at this time.

No problem, did they order the Player's Archive too? I got tired of waiting around for it to appear here (the only one that antone sells here is the one by Green Ronin) so I ordered the 4 for 3 special from your website, and received them today. :D

I am not sure if they ordered the Archive or not. I think so. I will have to look into it. Thanks for getting the PA and Thumble! Much appreciated.

Hal, do we love this guy or do we LOVE this guy? :)

Thanks about the cover. I should mention that it is by Storn Cook, who did the last cover, too. I'm still amazed at how well he captured Veptuna the Seductress! Really great stuff.

Yeah, we love this guy!!!! Oops, I am not Hal.

The cover art is great Ed. it does capture the book well.

Ed,

I let one of my guild members borrow 1A: The Hamlet of Thumble last meeting. The response after running the game was a very resounding, "COOL." His local gaming group is intending to use Thumble as a base of operations as 1A was thrown into their regular campaign. Chris, the DM, said that since Thumble was going to be the group's new base of operations, he will be able to follow along with the story line and add Open World Press's new products in as the campaign advances, which means futur sales.

Very good news on that side, although I am hoping Chris or one of his group members will buy 1A as I will be asking for the borrowed copy back, so they will have to get a copy of it from somewhere if they wish to continue using the module.

Thanks again for the great adventure!

Bob,

Glad to hear that your friends enjoyed it and thanks for all the support AND sales! I encourage them to look for the books at their local gaming stores. If your friends can't find the books there, they're always available at Amazon.com or Barnesandnoble.com!

Have you seen the latest reviews for "World of Whitethorn 1B: The Village of Oester"? Here is one I especially like because the reviewer does such a wonderful job looking at the book from a historical perspective and notes a lot of interesting details:

I've been eagerly awaiting this book, and since my LGS isn't particularly friendly or helpful, I decided that I would just buy it from the MEG website.

But it's not there! When will you have it listed? Given that it's a limited print run, I want to make sure I get one. Heck, I'm totally broke, given that we just got back from 12 days in England, but I'm digging the change out of the sofa cushions so I won't miss Ed's new book. Please update your website so I can buy it!:)
