MEG setting question

Voadam

Legend
Does the core Hunt rise of evil setting book deal with Shiva? Is he one of the Pagan gods detailed? I've got Mystic Warriors where there is a prestige class for some of his followers and suggested domains but I was wondering if there was any other material on him in the core book or other supplements.

My ravenloft game is currently set in the Indian realm of Sri Raji and one of my PCs is a champion of Shiva from before 3e. (Fighter/cleric not Chosen of Shiva, although I have placed the organization in the setting).

I like that MEG has developed horror supplements and was wondering if any of the adventures or other supplements deal with hindu mythological figures or Shiva in particular.

Thanks

The Shiva cult is part of The Hunt setting and they resides primarily in Ithganin and Warkistan. There will be more on them in the Pantheon and Pagan Faiths book that is to come later. This books will have quite a few cults of Gothos (or any d20 game really) detialed and the cult of Shiva definately is one of them.

We covered all the major gods of the pantheon and the outsiders ( Non-Human deities) but we only got to a few cults (witch cults) in the worldbook as we only had so much room.

To the Pantheon, all the gods outside of this church are "pagan". This includes the four elementals of the druids mentioned by Atfantasyreviewguru and all of the cults and covens in Gothos. We are going to spend quite a bit of time on this in the Pantheon book.

Thanks for the responses guys.

Doug, any rough ETA (2002, 2003?) or more info (page count, is it a _mystic warriors_ for faiths, does it have Deities and Demigod stats, is it a dark horror _touched by the gods_, etc.), on Pantheons? The site only seems to have the title as an unlinked product. From what you've said and what I've heard and seen of your products it sounds great.

For the Cult of Shiva in the book as written, Chosen can not have been any other divine class follower of shiva. Are other aspects of Shivan faith developed besides the nihilistic and exclusive mystic warrior chosen?

I thought of more questions

Roughly how much is each separate cult detailed out, two to three pages, five to ten? Varies substantially by cult?

Do any of the other MEG products out there include anything on the Shivans or have an indian type setting? any foul locales or urban blight etc.?

btw, that gray blinking smooth eyelid is pretty creepy.

thanks.

Great quetions Voadam,

The Hunt:Rise of Evil-Pantheon and Pagan Faiths will be out around September 2002 at this point and is the next in the setting series after Guilds and Adventurers.

There will be three aspects of the Shiva cult in the cults section. One of which is the Mystic Warrior portion though that specific aspect will be touched on the lightest as this book will be focused on the holy (and unholy) aspect.

They will vary greatly, some of the western style witch cults will be very small. Some of the old faith cults and evil cults will be handled in some detail but so far none of them are more than 10 pages of text.

Not until the Pantheons book comes out. Foul Locales is not setting specific though there is a couple of eastern style locales that may interest you here. Shiva will get good coverage though.

I hope that helped to answer your questions, fire away if you have more!

Will do

In the foul locales book how many eastern locales?

What types of eastern? Arabic, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, South east asia, Pacific Rim?

Are they in that realm with demon noble problems?

How long (page count) are the short adventures on average

And the locales?

Does the blinking eye belong to a specific beast or npc?

Why does it have a slitted pupil and no eyelashes?

2 are eastern base. The tomb of Amir-Hama, and Rahit's furniture Bazaar. The can be easily set anywhere.

Both are Arabic in nature.

Are they in that realm with demon noble problems?

No, Urban Blight is entirely generic though any of the locales can fit into Gothos as they are, for the most part, darkly themed.

It looks like 128 pages (it may go up though) with 15 full locales and two mini-two page locales.

Does the blinking eye belong to a specific beast or npc?

It belongs to my evil twin Doog!

Why does it have a slitted pupil and no eyelashes?

You mean you don't know?
