MEG's D20 Future setting

I saw a reference to this in another thread, and now I can't find it.

I tried visiting www.mysticeyegames.com, but the site is either down or incompatible with my computer. (For some annoying reason I can't visit the Toronto Star or www.adobe.anything ...)

Could someone provide a brief summary on what they have on the setting?

Green Ronin is doing Red Star, a sci-fi setting based on a comic book. However, it does refer to "Military Industrial Sorcery" which is something of a turn-off to me.

Unless they have another d20 Future setting they're working on, it's the one I'm writing for them. We spoke publicly about it briefly at the last MEG chat with ENWorld, but the book is to be a space western setting a la Firefly. Since I worked on d20 Future I had a lot of material left over, so the book is going to be both a complete space western campaign setting and also a complete rules supplement to let me get some more material out there that I couldn't squeeze into d20 Future.

Hopefully I've not said too much.

I MUST have this! :)

Any idea of a release date? :)

That sounds interesting, but what is "space western"??

Ah, somehow I knew this would come up. A space western (at least, my definition of it) combines the themes and characters of the western genre (you know, cowboys, outlaws, etc.) with the backdrop of space exploration. In essence, you have westerns unfolding in a science fiction setting.

I love Clint Eastwood's films, and I love science fiction films. So I guess I will have to get a look at this product...

The closest Clint Eastwood to a sci-fi film is Space Cowboy, and it's not about space western.

The representation of space western is Star Wars Tattooine (with the infamous Mos Eisley Cantina) and of course the short-lived Firefly TV series (you can find the DVD set in local video stores), now heading to the silver screen retitled Serenity (the name of the "star" ship).
