I finally got my iPhone yesterday and I downloaded and installed iNit. Nice app Balth, very handy. I intend to use it when I DM demo games for WotC at Gencon this year. Hope you don't mind. I hope Wizards won't mind either. ;)

Larinza turns her back on the fallen Ice Warrior and rushes to Balth's side. She shoves the other warrior hard, forcing it back a few steps up the stairs, and yells to Janus, "Get out of there! We're in the middle of a shooting gallery!" In the brief opening she's created, she kneels beside Balth and, with her shield up to protect them both, lays her sword at his side. She gathers up a fold of cloak in her other hand and holds it to his wounded head until the blood flow slows (although it does not stop completely). When he is out of danger she scoops up her sword again and stands ready to guard his retreat. "You too, Balth! Don't just lie there, get out while you can!"

She moves southward, along the side of the stairs, and aims a furious cut at the unbalanced ice warrior. It bites deeply into its icy skin, and pure, clear water flows forth from the wound. "All of you, retreat to the dining room! I'll hold them off!" She raises her shield into a defensive stance.

From above, the cold voice of the frostling chuckles. "If they are ready to cower, leave them be," it commands. "Let the shardlings feast..." The raider hesitates, torn between the command and its own battle lust.

Don't want to be feeding you tactics, but it makes sense for Larinza to be urging people out of the fire zone right now. I suggested the dining room because it has a door next to Balth that he can zip right through - just a suggestion, though.

Larinza moves to F4 and attacks Ice Warrior Raider 2 with Opening Shove: Opening Shove on Ice Warrior Raider 2 (1d20+7=14) vs Reflex. She pushes it to G4 and lets Janus shift 2 squares. The she uses Inspiring Word on Balth: Inspiring Word on Balth (1d6=6) Balth regains 12 hp, and is no longer dying. (The flavour text was for Aid the Injured, until I noticed it's a standard action; I decided not to change it.) Then she spends an AP to attack again with Bastion of Defense: Bastion of Defense on Ice Warrior Raider 2 (1d20+7=21, 3d8+4=19). It takes 19 damage, bloodying it, and all her allies get +1 to all defenses until the end of the encounter and 8 temporary hp.

Raider 2 holds its action (though it regenerates its 2 hp right now).

Murphy's turn. Also, Janus can shift 2 squares.

23 - Ice Warrior Raider 1 at D5 (5 damage, marked by Shorrin, prone)
20 - Janus (5/22 hp + 8 thp, +1 to all defenses)
19 - Ice Warrior Frostling at C3 (0 damage, used Icy Burst, cold creatures within 5 squares gain Regeneration 2)
19 - Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler at ?? (23 damage)
17 - Balth (12/27 hp + 8 thp, +1 to all defenses, Hunter's Quarry on Icicle Hurler 1, prone)
12 - Shorrin (11/33 hp + 8 thp, +1 to all defenses, slowed (save ends))
8 - Larinza (16/29 hp, allies in LOS who spend an action point regain 4 hp)
8 - Ice Warrior Raider 2 at G3 (20 damage, held action)
5 - Murphy (26/26 hp + 8 thp, +1 to all defenses, Warlock's Curse on Raider 1)

Not needing to be asked twice, Murphy points his rod at the closest enemy, and focuses on crushing the icy foes mind, modifying its perception of reality to exclude himself. After this assault, the warlock runs into the dining room, taking cover behind the table.

"Obey me!" hisses the frostling, its voice causing the ice to shiver. The ice warrior snarls in defiance, but then Murphy's attack flashes in its eyes. It recoils and backs off. Reluctantly the two Ice Warriors retreat to the top of the stairs and take up guard positions.

You hear more bodies moving upstairs, and low voice hissing conversations which you can't make out.

Janus can take his turn first. Remember you still have a free shift 2 before you move.

After Janus's turn:
Raider 1 regenerates 2, stands, and moves to D3 on level 2. EDIT: oops, this provokes an attack of opportunity from Shorrin. Should've had him shift.
Raider 2 takes its turn now, and moves to G3 on level 2.
The Frostling, the Icicle Hurler and the as-yet-unrevealed enemy hold their actions. (The Icicle Hurler also regenerates 2.)

(I figured since I was having them give you some breathing room anyway, now's a good time to clump them all together in the initiative order.)

So, Shorrin gets an OA against Raider 1, Janus can go, and then Balth right after him.

20 - Janus (5/22 hp + 8 thp, +1 to all defenses)
23 - Ice Warrior Raider 1 at D3 (3 damage, marked by Shorrin)
8 - Ice Warrior Raider 2 at G3 (29 damage, cannot see Murphy)
19 - Ice Warrior Frostling at C3 (0 damage, used Icy Burst, cold creatures within 5 squares gain Regeneration 2, held action)
19 - Ice Warrior Icicle Hurler at ?? (21 damage, held action)
7 - ?? at ?? (0 damage)
5 - Murphy (26/26 hp + 8 thp, +1 to all defenses, Warlock's Curse on Raider 1)

(Map is the same except Murphy is in the dining room, and the two Ice Warriors are at the top of the stairs.)
