From now on you can just go ahead and teleport whenever you kill those things - you know they're minions.

The two remaining Shardlings advance to attack, but are stopped in their tracks. One disintegrates in the face of Murphy's curse, and the other is stabbed by Janus's missile.

The raider howls and frustration and swipes its maul at Shorrin, but it crashes off his shield. As Shorrin throws the raider back, it reaches out to grip his wrist. Although its fingers only brush against him, he feels his scales stiffening with ice again. The Frostling calls, "There, you have him trapped! Go and kill the others - we will rain down death on him from up here!" Obediently the raider circles around Shorrin, who is locked in place by the ice. It jumps off the end of the stairs and finally sets its feet on the bottom floor. As soon as it is out of the way, the Frostling fires a blast of icy cold at Shorrin, missing. It hisses in annoyance.

The wounded icicle hurler reappears at the railing on the northern balcony. From there is has another vantage point on the foyer below, and it has a perfect view at Murphy and Larinza huddled beneath the southern balcony. It raises its hands and chants in an unearthly language, and as it lowers them the entire foyer fills with a storm of flying ice shards. The razor-sharp shards swirl through the air, whipping past Larinza's face and impacting on Shorrin's armour - and turning aside as they approach the shroud of gloom surrounding Murphy - but amazingly nothing larger then a pellet actually strikes exposed flesh.

An icicle spear materializes in the hand of the other hurler, and from its post at the top of the stairway it launches it down at Shorrin. He raises his shield again and deflects this latest assault. The Frostling hisses again - its fury is growing!

Murphy moves to F2, activating Shadow Walk, and puts his curse on Shardling 4, killing it. He fires an Eldritch Blast at Raider 1 and misses.

Janus hits Shardling 1, killing it.

Raider 1 regenerates 2 hp. It attacks Shorrin with its Icy Embrace as a minor action (hitting and immobilizing him again), followed by a Maul attack, which misses: Ice Embrace (vs Fort); Maul (w/+1d6 cold damage while target is slowed) (1d20+7=27, 1d20+9=17, 1d8+3+1d6=15) Damn, a critical hit - with the attack that does no damage! Then it shifts to E6. (Shorrin gets an attack with Combat Challenge.)

The Frostling's Icy Burst fails to recharge: Icy Burst recharge (1d6=3) It attacks Shorrin with Freezing Shot: IC is down, had to roll myself, got a 16. Miss.

Icicle Hurler 1 let itself get caught outside the Frostling's zone of regeneration, so it doesn't regenerate this round. It moves to E6, from where it can see everywhere south of it on the first floor, and casts Icicle Storm, an area burst 3 centered at F2. This misses Murphy with a 17 (would have hit except for concealment), misses Larinza with a 17, and misses Shorrin with a 17.

Icicle Hurler 2 throws an icicle at Shorrin, missing with a 15.

Balth's turn! Also, Shorrin gets a free basic attack on Raider 1.

Balth exits the room and takes a defensive posture behind Murphy, dexterously popping out from behind him and shooting two arrows at the creature near the base of the stairs, past Murphy's ear.

Shorrin slams his shield off the icy creature, drawing a half hearted smile to his face. He needed to move back... now.

Ok, look. When you hit things with a power that moves them, you have to tell me where you're moving them to. I'm sick of guessing. From now on, if you don't say where you're moving the enemy to, it doesn't move.

Shorrin slices a chunk from the ice raider's outer shell. A split second later, two arrows whiz past him and bury themselves in its chest. Cracks radiate out and a stream of pure water begins to trickle out from its core. Shorrin follows up with a mighty shield bash which sends it reeling backwards, tottering on the edge of toppling over.

Larinza sees Shorrin's trouble and hesitates. Her first urge is to rush out and drag him out of his spot by force. But she looks up at the icicle hurler poised to throw, and her own bloodied condition, and realizes that basic tactics says she should retreat: she knows the dragonborn can take a beating, and she can't help him if she's dead. The best thing she can do right now is finish off the raider and hope he can withstand the attacks until she can heal herself and return. She pulls a javelin from her sheaf and throws it at the raider, but it misses and clatters off the far wall. She winces. "Sorry!" she calls. "You're on your own for now!" Then she ducks through the doorway into the dining room. Immediately she spots Janus bleeding and moves to his side.

Suddenly Janus feels a pulse of elemental energy building in the fireplace. The pulse comes a bare second before the blue flames ignite into life again. As they dance, another spindly ice warrior pulls itself through. The flames freeze again once it is fully in the world. The creature does not hesitate, but charges at the closest prey: Larinza, who has her back to it. Its icy talons scrape painfully across her back.

Another shardling appears in the left-hand doorway, and charges straight ahead towards Murphy. Although shadows still swirl around him, its talons find their mark and claw shallow gashes in his arm.

Shorrin's basic attack hits Raider 1 for 8.

Balth moves to F1, puts his Hunter's Quarry on Raider 1, and hits it twice with Twin Strike for 14 damage total, bloodying it.

Shorrin hits Raider 1 with Tide of Iron, doing 11 damage and moving it to, uh, E7 I guess. Why not? He fails both his saves.

Larinza draws a javelin (minor action) and throws it at Raider 1, missing: Javelin at Raider 1 (1d20+6=9, 1d6+3=8) She moves to H4.

The fireplaces at J1 and A4 recharge: Recharge (1d6=1, 1d6=6, 1d6=6, 1d6=2), causing 2 more Shardlings to appear.

Shardling 5 (at J1) charges to H3 and attacks Larinza: Ice Shard at Larinza (w/+1 for charge) (1d20+5+1=19) Hit for 4 cold damage.

Shardling 6 (at A4) moves to C2, then charges to E2 and attacks Murphy: Ice Shard at Murphy (w/+1 for charge) (1d20+5+1=21) Hit for 4 cold damage.

Murphy steps away from the enemy next to him, closer to the wall and levels his rod at the foe and then turns his attention to the warrior near Shorrin. This time his eldritch blast strikes true.
