[Merged] Hackmaster reviews?

Well for one, Everquest does use the d20 SRD. Like I said, there is a clear dividing line there. It, unlike Hackmaster, has an arguable reason to be exempt.

But if it came down to it, I would rather see Everquest chucked to get rid of HM rather than have HM reviews throw the doors open and diluting the ENWorld reviews system. It's more important, IMO, to exclude HM than include Everquest.

C'mon now! The D&D part of the site isn't irrelevant. I like HM (from what I've seen) and I'd just like to add my support to keeping it in.

So? Whether we like it shouldn't be an issue. I like HERO 5, too. But I don't recommend we review it here. Just like Hackmaster, it isn't D&D or D20.

I think your "slippery slope" concerns are unfounded. Who else will be publishing a game based on older editions of D&D/AD&D? Why would it dilute the reviews page or harm EN World to include HackMaster? It's a special case. I think the SRD stipulation is searching for an excuse to exclude HackMaster. I cannot see what harm could be done. If it was a completely different game - say, Star Children: The Velvet Generation or the rerelease of Beyond the Supernatural - I could see it. Those are neither d20 nor D&D. HackMaster is a licensed D&D product. There will almost certainly be no other special cases like HackMaster - any other D&D product beyond HackMaster will either be d20 or OGL compliant.

I agree with Psion on this issue. I really think we should keep ther reviews to d20 stuff and material dervived from the OGL.
