Why not? She prepares as a Wizard, so she can choose if to fill the slot in the morning or later in the day. Obviously, the number of total spells/day can't go over the max.

Say you can cast 3 4th-level spells per day. You can prepare a Still Fireball in the morning (to avoid increased casting time), cast it, cast another Still Fireball on the fly (with increased casting time), and after the battle prepare another Still Fireball in the last slot.

(For instance, a cleric with the Maximize Spell feat could give up a 4th-level air walk to cast a Maximized cure light wounds.)

And before anyone asks why a cleric would ever do this, it's because there aren't ane cure spells (currently) at higher levels. The example above wouldn't ever happen-the cleric wouldn't swap out a fourth level spell for a maximized Cure Light Wounds to heal 13 points when he could heal (at seventh level, the minimum for casting fourth level spells) 4d8+7 by swapping out for a Cure Critical Wounds instead. But a 15th level caster who was all out of Heal spells might decide it was worth a seventh-level slot to toss a maximized Cure Critical Wounds and give somebody 47 hit points ...
