I'm looking to see if anyone knows of anything in the rules which specifically states one way or the other. As it is, they are treated differently by different aspects of the rules, so I want to see if I can get a definite answer rather than conjecture.
( No offense to Hypersmurf of course, just looking for a rules-quote type answer)
But it isn't stated in the rules, so it can only be inferred. Thus, you will only get opinions and conjecture on this matter. If it were otherwise, Hypersmurf, that living library of DnD rules obscuria, would have given a definitive answer, with page numbers and SRD quotes to boot.
I agree with Hypersmurf, because the metamagicked spell is regarded as a higher level spell when it comes to spell slot actual conusmed in the process of casting it, placement in wands, calculating the scribing expense, and so on. So to me, it seems more trational to base the metamgical rods view of the metamagicked spell on this, than the actual bouncing off GoI or possible saving throws.
