Is there any way to get metapsionic feats to affect powers manifested by a creature with the Psionic template, and thus freely manifests at will?
How is a that worse than a creature can who can cast a spell at will? If it bothers you that much, just call them "power-like abilities" and have them follow rules similar to spell-like abilities.green slime said:This is my biggest irk with the Psionics deal. That the psi-monsters manifest their powers "at will" rather than paying a cost.

Because it negates so much of what a Psion is.
Unlike a wizard, there are special rules for Psionic combat. These rules cause the combatants to deplete power points and stats of their opponents. There is a whole line of feats dedicated to this purpose.
But Illithids, and other psionically gifted monsters do not have power points!
I have no problem if they can manifest Displacement at will, but a better solution would have been to give the monsters the ability to "Trigger" certain powers for free (without the DC check), and give them power points for their other powers and psionic combat abilities.
