metroid prime overhyped?

Mine almost froze one time. But it's really hot in that room. I have 2 PC's and a ton of electronics running in there. So I popped a fan in there and keep the window open a bit just to keep the temp down. Was your room a bit toasty at the time of freeze?

no the room was cool and i hadn't been using the cube for that long. Like I said it never froze before and I've put ungodly hours into this thing so unless it becomes a recuring issue it isn't a big deal. Its jsut frustrating when it ahppens after you just finish jumping through a lot of hoops.

I read on PlanetGamecube that a certain percentage of Gamecube CPUs came from IBM's fab plant with a particular flaw that happens to be triggered by Metroid Prime. I have absolutely no sources to cite for this, so ... grain of salt.

A lot of people also have issues with the motors in the disc reader burning out. It's unfortunate that Nintendo would have such quality issues at such a crucial time.

On the plus side, if you have a bad 'Cube, I've heard Nintendo will replace it rather quickly and hassle free.

frag it happend 2 times last night same spot as before. For some reason I just can't do that part of the game. I can get the morph bombs so that's good, and I saved so I have them. But as soon as I activate all the machines, go through the opened door on the highest platform, and turn the corner it freezes. I don't even know what the heck I'm missing. :(
