The AoMF is mainly for Monks (who don't use gauntlets) and for non-humanoid characters with multiple attacks (as it improves all of their natural weapons).

3) It's not party of the concept. Putting gauntlets on does sort of negate the "unarmed" aspect of the concept, but he's not a martial artist, he's a villager who's grown up having little reason to fight with weapons.

The "gauntlets" could represent anything from a properly weighted glove, a cestus, or full on metal gauntlets, in my mind. I could imagine a simple farm boy putting one together.
