Mind Flayer Haikus

If all were half-orcs
In the world of light above
We’d starve – empty skulls!

Sometimes brains get old;
We tried to diversify
Hind-flayer is bad

More later, when time allows. ;)

Paladin trembling
like cherry blossom petal.
Can opener, please.

Next time, apprentice,
see that it wets itself
before we begin.

Ah, a fine one, this.
So proud, defiant and so
very, very Good.

Love and Grief entwined:
flavor of memories are
licorice and plum.

Aromas entice.
Though Hope dies on the palate,
it finishes well.

So misunderstood.
We but seek the very best:
Succ'lent mind with flair.

I have to say, "I taste like sushi" and "Hind-flayer" are classic. And, of course, Sialia shows up and writes real poetry for us!

[Some praise, some only complain:]

"Such ignorance, this!
Are we no more than the sum
Of our appetites?

Have we not children
And homes, glorious cities?
Art, sport and culture?

This uncouth prey dares,
horrified and snickering,
to mock our cuisine.

One can’t expect more.

Pass me the ketchup, my dear.
This brain is too bland."
