Mindbender and Telpathy

I posted this on the other board, when I thought this was down, I can't seem to log on to that one.

If you posted an answer, to the other temp board, I Humbly request that you repeat your message, and apoligize for the inconvience.

For the rest of you,

I have a player who has a Mindbender character, what I would like clarification on is how the Telepathy works, can it be used on multiple people and can anybody contact the Mindbender, if he has establish a link. Or can only the Mindbender initiate any conversation.

The player, I believe are abusing this ability. Using it as a Ma Bell system, to talk to the other characters, whenever they want to, 1 player, whos is playing another character, in particular, thinks it's a valid reason, to use Player Knowledge, to tell the Mindbender, to do something, he thinks the Mindbender should already know.

I don't think this player should be the "subconciousness" of the Mindbender character, but since the Mindbender "at one time" and contacted him using the Telepathy, he thinks he can speak his mind whenever.

I would like to know what other people think. about how you would interupt how this ability works, and what I should do about the "Metagaming" Mindbender, is a Prestiage Class from Tome and Blood Pages 63-64. I'm listing this for your convienance.

ANY help, from DM's or players who have played a Mindbender, would be GREATLY appericated.

Its a power which needs to be interperted by the DM, but having said that:

You could decide the description of the ability limits the mindbender to mentally speaking with others, but they have to speak normally back - Its the mindbender who gains the telepathy ability, not other pc's.

Telepathy is a supernatural ability that also a lot of monsters have (e.g. Baatezu). All creatures having Telepathy, 100' should by able to use it in a unique way. So the answer to the question posed is not only interesting for the Mindbender.

I think that somewhere it is said that Telepathy allows the creature to communicate mentally with all beings having a language in a 100' radius. For me, communication is a two-way thing. Maybe one should rule that if the communication hasn't been initiated by the creature having telepathy that creature is allowed a Wisdom/Spot/Listen/whatever check to notice that one else is willing to communicate telepathically.
