Mindblank item for only 43,200 gp?

I'm not sure if I'm doing this right, but would it be possible to make an item that grants Mindblank 1/day (mind you that the spell has a 24 hour duration) for only 43,200 gp? Is my math on that correct? (8th lvl spell x 15th lvl caster x 1,800 gp / 5)

The math is right. I wouldn't allow it, though, because it's essentially the same as continuous mind blank, which would cost 8 x 15 x 2,000 gp / 2 (120,000 gp). The only difference is that it can be dispelled and then you have to wait a day to re-activate it, and that's not worth a 75,000 gp discount IMO.

Well, considering you've have to be over 10th level to afford it, and around 12th level before a DM would realistically let you attain it (because it's just not plausible to have a character with all her funding bound up in one single item), and even then it's dispellable, AND all it does is stop mind-control and divination, I don't see it as being that bad.

I'm with Sammael here. The pricing guides are just guides, and dms have to look carefully at things like this.

All it does? It makes you immune to two entire schools of magic. That's not something I'd let a 12th level character be. Mind-blank is 8th level, and that means it's roughly appropriate for 15th-16th level characters. And even then it screwes up specialist enchanters and diviners way too much.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that it also makes you immune to all illusion (pattern) and (phantasm) spells, as well as all [Fear] spells.
