Mindflayer's Interview at WotC

"I'm a monster." Ah, the memories. "This is so insulting", etc, etc.

I still like the Tiefling/Gnome one the best. This was good for a laugh though.

"Bring it, scruffy."

WotC is really playing up the "nobody likes gnomes" thing (which we know isn't true), aren't they? Not that I think it's a bad thing ... but I know some people actually like the d&d gnome and are getting more and more upset by their "butt of every joke" portrayal by WotC in the lead-up to 4e. Oh well.

I thought they could've found a better voice for the mindflayer. It doesn't sound right. In fact, it sounds like Chris Perkins or someone else from the WotC office. Other than that, I thought it was funny. Was it just me or was the trog's whinging about his smell on a loop at the end there?

I enjoyed it but I thought they could've gotten a better voice for the mindflayer. It sounds like Chris Perkins or somebody else from the office. The funny little slurps it does every once in a while with its tentacles is good, though.

Three cheers for the gnome! Bring it, scruffy.

This could have only been written by someone intimately familiar with D&D. A non-gamer even knows what a troglodyte or gelatinous cube is? And the desset stamp was fabulous, as what else can a gelatinous cube be once it ingests some fruit? And a trog who can code HTML? I don't have to explain the joke, do I? It's geek humor, and we're ALL geeks!
A monster who can code Html is funny.
But honestly, I can code html, and I can't code anything.

If they were a geek it'd be some sort of perl or python refrence.

Sticking to my guns. They probably got some info, suggestions about "funny monsters in our game", but really a cube of gelatin as desert isn't a geek thing.
A DnD geek would be like "it's sorta funny, but mind flayers eat brains..."

I have to say, those cartoons are going to do absolute wonders for gnomish popularity.

Not until "Rarr, I'm a monster!" did I even care that they were if the game at all. :p
