A few more quick questions: Is there anywhere that mentions if you get a bonus to hit with a ranged weapon if you take a Full round action (Or is it Move Equiv)? I know there is one in the DWS PrC, but I ment in general.

In the PH, the only thing like this is attacking inanimate objects: full round action, +4? to hit. (PH lent out, can't check atm).

If one were to create a Huge Mighty Composit bow, how much would it cost, per +? I'm trying to think of a good + to go for. Maybe +6 or +7.

Don't sweat the details. Make a masterwork Huge mighty composite longbow [+7] cost 2,000 gp and be done with it.

(Following the pattern between shortbow and longbow to enlarge it, and extending the pattern for mighty bows would give you only 1150 or so - but +7 is much, much better.)

That'll work! :)

That would increase the range, wouldn't it?

Also, would a Huge bow take a medium or small arrow? How would you compare the arrow, to? A javelin?

It would take its own arrows. They'd be be roughly comparable to javelins, I'd guess.

The range should increase to about 140 feet - see the Gargantuan longbow on page 102 of the MM.

Re: Re: Minotaur Advancement Questions

When do monstrous races (those with multiple HD) gain feats when they gain class levels? This is something I've always wondered and never seen discussed in the various treatments of monster PCs. Obviously they get their inferior number of monster feats (1+1 per 4 EHD typically) for their monster HD but I've never understood what is supposed to happen after that point.

Take an ogre, 4 HD I think, and currently +8 ECL. It has 1 starting monster feat. The ogre gains one level of Barbarian - it now has 5 total HD and is considered a 9th level character. Does it get a feat for being 1st level? For being 9th level? Or none because it's "really" 5th level - in which case, when would it get its next feat and why?

I wish the DMG hadn't muffed this topic up.

Sadly, there's no good answer for this question. I hope Savage Species (formerly Tooth and Claw) clears this up.

Whee! :)

Okay, how are my calculations, do they look off, at all?

Minotaur, Large Monstrous Humanoid
HD: 6d8+18(45)+2d10+6
Init: +4
Speed: 30ft
AC: 18 (-1 Size, +5 Nat, +4 Dex)
Attack: Bow: +12/+7, Melee +13/+8
Damage: 2d6, Greataxe 2d8+4, Gore 2d6+2
Special: Charge 4d6+6
Special: Nat Cunning, Scent
Saves: Fort: +10, Ref +9, Will +6
Abilities: Str 23, Dex 18, Con 17, Int 10, Wis 13, Cha 12
Skills: +8 Spot, +8 Listen, +4 Search, +5 Hide, +4 Move Silently, +5 Jump, +3 Intimidate, Craft (Bowman/fletcher).
Feats: Great Fortitude, Weapon Focus (Bow), Point Blank Shot, Far Shot.
Cr: 6

With his MW Mighty Composit +7 Huge Bow, he's doing 2d6+6 points of damage, from 210ft away.

Note, upon creation, I rolled 4d6, discarded the lowest die, 12 times. Picked the best six. The rolls were as follows: 15, 12, 8, 15, 14, 13, 13, 15, 8, 12, 17, 13. I was generous, and reduced a 15 to 10, for his int. Reasonable, I think. Note, at 8th level, he spent his +1 abilty on dex.

Whenever the number of hit dice is evenly divisible by three. (I think.)

So a minotaur 6/barbarian 4 would have two feats from being a minotaur, and one feat from his third level of barbarian.

I think the DMG is very clear about this. According to the core rules, the monster HD are treated as class levels, and, "when crestures gain levels, they add class levels, as in the multiclassing rules in the Player's Handbook". (DMG p. 24, "Experience for Monsters").

So a starting ogre is 4th level. When they add one level, they're 5th level (precisely as in the example on DMG p. 24), and get no feat just like any other multiclassing character taking a new class. When they achieve 6th level, they get a new feat just like anyone else.
